Location: From the town of Merritt travel south on Hwy. #5A. Thalia is accessed by turning west (right) off Hwy. #5A onto a secondary road which will lead you past Lodwick Lake. There are lots of lakes in this area with many interconnecting roads. Watch for signs leading to the lake of your choice. Thalia can also be found by travelling north on Hwy. #5A from the town of Princeton. Trucks are recommended for the last 1 km. of road to the lake.

Resorts & Campsites: One 2 vehicle treed BCFS campsite is located on the north side of the lake, while the south side has a 5 vehicle semi-open BCFS campsite. Cartop boat launching is available. Also, there are many other campgrounds available on other nearby lakes.

Fishing Report: Thalia provides a very good Rainbow fishery for trout that average in the 1-3 lb. range. However this lake is also well known for its large fish as well. Rainbows up to 22 lbs. have been caught. Considered a high priority quality lake, Thalia was first stocked in 1942 and in 1994 received a total of 7000 Pennask/Hatheume all female Rainbows. A beautiful setting, good fishing and with access to other great nearby lakes makes Thalia Lake an excellent choice for your fishing and camping vacation.

Nearby Lakes

Havey-Hall, Hornet, Kump, Lodwick, Robertson and Stoney are just some of the high priority, quality lakes in this area. This very scenic area with excellent camping gets heavy use, however these lakes are managed well and provides fishermen with a great Rainbow fishery. A variety of fishing experiences with trout ranging from 1-6 lbs. and larger can be found in this Thalia Lake area. Most lakes have BCFS campsites with cartop boat launching. If you are planning a family fishing vacation, Thalia Lake area is definitely worth considering!
