False Solomons Seal
(Smilacina racemosa)
False Solomons Seal is a 30-100 cm. tall perennial often found in bunches. It is the only lily to have the distinctive large clusters of tiny white flowers.

LEAVES:
- False Solomons Seal leaves are long and broad, coming to point
- found in 2 rows along the stem
- noticeable veins running the length of the leaf
FLOWERS:
- Flowers on the False Solomons Seal are tiny and white
- found in a large cone at the top of the stem
- powerful scent
FRUIT:
- round, red berries
HABITAT:
- False Solomons Seal are found in low to subalpine areas
- widespread in wet forests and clearings
FASCINATING FACTS:
- when young, False Solomons Seal can easily be mistaken for the poisonous Indian hellebore.
